The vampire in me was closer to the surface . . .
Evernight Academy: an exclusive boarding school for the most beautiful, dangerous students of all—vampires. Bianca, born to two vampires, has always been told her destiny is to become one of them.
But Bianca fell in love with Lucas—a vampire hunter sworn to destroy her kind. They were torn apart when his true identity was revealed, forcing him to flee the school.
Although they may be separated, Bianca and Lucas will not give each other up. She will risk anything for the chance to see him again, even if it means coming face-to-face with the vampire hunters of Black Cross—or deceiving the powerful vampires of Evernight. Bianca's secrets will force her to live a life of lies.
Yet Bianca isn't the only one keeping secrets. When Evernight is attacked by an evil force that seems to target her, she discovers the truth she thought she knew is only the beginning. . . .
In this sequel to Evernight, Bianca begins another year at Evernight Academy, a boarding school mainly for vampires. Bianca, whose parents are vampires, will one day fulfill her destiny and become a full vampire herself. For now, she is busy keeping her secret from her human roommate and pretending to date Balthazar, a respected and powerful vampire at school, while really still dating Lucas, a vampire hunter. Both Bianca and Lucas want to know why the academy admits human students at all, when everyone must go to such great lengths to keep the true nature of the majority of the school's students a secret. Their investigation takes many twists as they meet up clandestinely, encounter a young and seemingly innocent vampire with connections to the school, and work to overcome their preconceived notions about both vampires and vampire hunters. When the school becomes plagued with wraiths, or ghosts, seemingly intent on harming Bianca, a long kept secret comes out and a master of manipulation instigates a vicious battle. The future of the school is left uncertain and Bianca finds herself making a surprising alliance. It is necessary to read Evernight to really understand Stargazer. The plot is interesting enough, but poorly drawn out suspense and an abundance of flat characters mar the story. The narrative is often dull, with surprisingly little action, given the subject matter. Indiscriminate fans of this genre will probably enjoy this supernatural romance regardless of its flaws. November 02, 2009: Ok, the first book of the saga took me awhile to finding myself enjoying the reading...but now with stargazer, well i loved from the beginning to the end, i jut loved it! The characters are totally defined, the commitment is done, and they are all playing this game perfectly, we will not find mistakes or discrepancies, it´s still very easy to read, but it´s also fascinating and logical they way all the pieces are complying.
Bianca is now more mature and even when all around her is so confused, she is really acting with her head, and that it´s refreshing. Lucas is adorable, and yeap, he´s 20, we can not blame him for not taking more risky decisions, and he does a lot of thing with his heart so.... Balthazar has totally stolen my heart, and even when i want Bianca loving Lucas forever, i find Balthazar as a tender and incredible 300 years old young men...Weel, all i can add is that you will love this story and remember it for good...if not, you can always complain to me! ;)I Also Recommend: Hourglass, Evernight (Evernight Academy Series #1), Royal Blood (Vampire Kisses Series #6), Immortal, Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series #1).

October 25, 2009: This is the sequel to Evernight and to me way better than the first. Stargazer takes a dive into the paranormal genre with its inclusion of the ghosts/wraiths. The storyline is a page turner and the development of the plot is excellent to the very end. I did not expect the twist that came. Still sticking to the portryal of teenage love, as well as love triangles that form. The characters are round and clearly individuals. The description is through the mind of a teenage girl therfore easy to follow and not confusing. The author doesn't jump around and is very creative in regards to the world she has created within the academy. A good vampire read with a dash of spookiness.
