Synopsis

It all started with a mysterious letter left at a tiny bookstore for authors Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Its closing lines: "We just want people to know about this. The stuff that has happened to us could happen to anyone." Little could they imagine the remarkable adventure that awaited them as they followed Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace and a strange old book into a world filled with elves, goblins, dwarves, trolls, and a fantastical menagerie of other creatures. The oddest part is in entering that world, they didn't leave this one!

Five captivating books! One thrilling adventure!

Publishers Weekly

The Spiderwick Chronicles Boxed Set by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi combines all five paper-over-board titles in the acclaimed series: The Field Guide; The Seeing Stone; Lucinda's Secret; The Ironwood Tree and The Wrath of Mulgarath. PW praised the series' "appealing characters, well-measured suspense and... inviting package" noting that readers "may well find themselves glancing over their shoulders as they eagerly follow the events." December 02, 2008: The spiderwick chronicles has 3 main characters. First, theres Jared, a small boy who always gets into trouble. Next, theres Simon, Jared's twin brother who is really smart and loves animals. Finally, theres Mallory, Simon and Jared's older sister who likes to fence, and finds her brothers really annoying.
The main plot of this story involves magical creatures seeking out the feild guide. The feild guid is a book that has information about the magical world around them. Also, they have to figure out about different creatures and what they do.
Time and place is not spacific in this book, but I'm pretty certain that it is set in the present. The days pass as the days go by, so there is no certain either.
Three children have gone to many places and have met a numerous amount of creatures. Also, some of them were cruel to them. The theme of this story is magical and adventurous. It also has many cliff hangers.
I loved this story and I would reccomend this book to anybody who likes fantasy. It was so exiting, I read it from start to finish. I think anybody who starts reading this will not be able to put it down.
Connecting to this book was really easy. I have read many other books that contain magical things and creatures, because I find them really interesting. Also, puzzles and quizes arefun for me too.

I Also Recommend: Tuck Everlasting.
