    Synopsis

When Palmer Stoat notices the black pickup truck following him on the highway, he fears his precious Range Rover is about to be carjacked. But Twilly Spree, the man tailing Stoat, has vengeance, not sport-utility vehicles, on his mind.

Wall Street Journal - Tom Nolan

Less romantic and more eccentric is Carl Hiassen's grotesquely amusing Sick Puppy Fans will not be disappointed.

    Biography

In his thrilling and hilarious mysteries, Carl Hiaasen does for the Florida Coast what Raymond Chandler did for L.A., embracing it in all its steamy surrealness, and elevating it to a kind of iconographic literary landscape.

    What a great book!by Green_Turtle

November 29, 2008: This isn't exactly a "whodoneit" because you're told who did the deed, then you're told what strange and bizarre events led up to it... It's more like a "WHAT THE HECK IS GONNA HAPPEN NEXT !!!"

This is one of the funniest books I've read - not always a haha kind of funny, but it has lots of that too.

Hiassen has the imagination of Douglas Adams, with characters you may know, but without space travel and the Vorgons. Or, he keeps company with some very strange people!

Buy it, or steal it from a friend, and read it!

October 28, 2008: i generally like Hiassen because I grew up in Florida and can relate to much of his opinions and recognize the places, however, this drug on with one revenge plot after another and it got tedious and a bit ridiculous.
