Shadow's Edge, the second title in Brent Weeks's Night Angel Trilogy, finds Kylar Stern torn between the peaceful stability of family life and the way of the shadows.
More Reviews and RecommendationsBrent Weeks was born and raised in Montana. After getting his paper keys from HillsdaleCollege, Brent had brief stints walking the earth like Caine from Kung Fu, tending bar, and corrupting the youth. (Not at the same time.) He started writing on bar napkins, then on lesson plans, then full time. Eventually, someone paid him for it. Brent lives in Oregon with his wife, Kristi. He doesn't own cats or wear a ponytail.

September 21, 2009: Picking up right where Way of Shadows leaves off, Shadow's Edge is a good sequel and excellent mid-point leading into Beyond the Shadows. Further building the characters you've come to love and building a plot that will all come to fruition in Beyond the Shadows.
The plot is so well thought-out and contructed, it leaves you wondering how everyone involved will fall into place. However, it is rather predictable, but it is still engaging and entertaining. With plenty of action, sex, and violence, Shadow's Edge definitely the "Empire Strikes Back" of the Night Angel Trilogy.Reader Rating:

August 30, 2009: The second book was great just like the first one. The third one is well written also. The only bad thing about the second one was in the back of your mind you know that it is a trilogy, so you know that the fun will end way to soon. Hopefully Brent can figure out a way to keep writting in this world that he created. A great read to say the least.
