As a child, I always dreamed of becoming either a nurse or teacher. Initially I chose to become a nurse because I really wanted to help others, especially those who were ill. Then I realized that both of my dreams could come true, I could be both a nurse and a teacher. So I pursued my dreams.

I have always had a very special interest in test success for nursing students because of my own personal experiences with testing. Success with testing was never easy for me and as a nursing student I needed to find methods and strategies that would bring success. This is where my passion to help nursing students began.

In 1991, while teaching, a group of students approached me and asked for assistance in preparing for the NCLEX® examination. Their request inspired me to coordinate and conduct a formal NCLEX® review course for them, and I continue to conduct these courses today. This professional endeavor, my personal experiences with testing, and my desire and dedication to assist nursing students to overcome the obstacles associated with testing inspired me to write and author all of the products in Saunders Pyramid to Success for the NCLEX® Examination.

My goal in writing the books in Saunders Pyramid to Success for the NCLEX® Examination was multifaceted. I wanted to provide knowledge to students to prepare them for their professional role of providing the highest quality of care to the clients that we serve in the profession. I wanted to provide them with resources that would assist them with passing nursing courses while in nursing school. I also wanted to provide them with resources containing thousands of practice questions that would ensure skillful test-taking abilities and prepare them for the NCLEX® examination. And, I wanted to instill self-confidence in their ability to succeed. These goals I have achieved with all of the books that I wrote in Saunders Pyramid to Success for the NCLEX® Examination.

I want to thank the many individuals who assisted me in the publication of the books in Saunders Pyramid to Success for the NCLEX® Examination. And, a special thank you to all of my nursing students for inspiring me to pursue my dreams.
