July 10, 2008: St Germain, as Ms Yarbro has written him, is one very boring vampire. I was not at all impressed with the writing and the characters. Just stake him and put him out of his eternal misery please. What a waste of bookshelf space!

December 26, 2007: Moments in the life of a semi-immortal vampire, immortal as a vampire and as a character, that is as always, more real than any living person. The first story is 'Harpy', about a meeting in Ancient Greece. 'Lost Epiphany' is my favorite story of this collection. We find the count in a rather unusual situation, 'struggling on deck of a ship, instead of sleeping in the hold on his native soil.' But not everything is what it seems in this story. 'Tales out of School' is a classic St Germain tale. He is a teacher at the university of Padua, sharing his knowledge of medicinal herbs with his students, and sharing his love with Orazia, a young widow who is suffering from a disease the count cannot heal. 'Intercession' is a series of letters by Rogerio about his efforts to free the count from a South American prison. It also provides some information about the events that happens while the count seems to have disapeared from this earth. 'A Gentleman of the old School' takes place in today's Vancouver, when the count is dealing with a female reporter and a Canadian serial killer. A very enjoyable book. It is always great to hear some news about 'Le comte de Saint Germain'.
