    Synopsis

Saint City has always been Dante Valentine's home. It's where she grew up, it's where her dead are buried, and it's where she learned to hunt.

Now, one call from an old friend will bring her back to investigate a murder too close to home for anyone's comfort. But the one person she trusted has just betrayed her.

Sometimes revenge is best served demon-hot...

December 19, 2008: I picked up this book after reading reviews from other readers saying that the series was going downhill with this book. I personally don't like to leave a series unfinished so I read it.

I loved this book. I think Dante is a more exciting character when Japhrimel isn't around to save her. I think the murder mystery subplot was well planned and was a nice break from demon hunting (even if the demons were still hunting her).

The only problem I had with this book is Dante's continuous indecision about whether or not to be with Japhrimel even after she has formally stated what she would do, however, that isn't enough to deter me from reading the next book or bring down the enjoyment of this one so I give it 4 stars!

I Also Recommend: Working for the Devil (Dante Valentine Series #1), Dead Man Rising (Dante Valentine Series #2), The Devil's Right Hand (Dante Valentine Series #3), The Laughing Corpse (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series #2), Guilty Pleasures (Anita Blake Vampire Hunter Series #1).
