      Synopsis

In the middle of Europe's Revolutions of 1848, England's No. 1 scoundrel is using all his reserves of deceit, low cunning and treachery to stay one jump ahead of death. As Harry Flashman plays for his life against the unholy alliance of Count Otto von Bismarck and Lola Montez, he tries to thwart an international double-cross that could change the destiny of a continent.

"Irresistible entertainment...rollicking adventure...the most engaging rogue you are likely to meet....Flashman tells his story with the sexual avidity of a Frank Harris and the range span of a Portnoy." (San Francisco Examiner)

ROYAL FLASH is second in the series, following FLASHMAN, the introductory volume.

November 11, 2009: This is a great series! Flashman is a rollicking English army officer during Victorian England who ruts his way through history meeting some of the great men like Bismarck & Custer. There isn't a woman - black, brown, or white - who Flashy won't go to bed with as he makes his place as history's greatest cowardly (but loveable) cad. He is always present for history's great events & claims responsibility in his memoirs for making them occur but never getting credit like the movers & shakers. A delightful series with a quite accurate look on major historical events during the 1800s. Interestingly, each book in the series has footnotes citing actual historical records, which the author has relied upon to make his books seem truly biographical.
