September 26, 2009: I purchased Rick Steve's book for my upcoming trip to Paris. The book provides lots of useful information about things to see and do. I recommend it if you want detailed information about the city, including recommended restaurants, hotels and attractions. I must say I was a little disappointed to learn the 2010 edition came out only 2 months after I purchased the 2009 one. B&N needs to develop a system to let buyers know that a new edition is expected to be published soon.

August 17, 2009: I give copies of Rick Steeve's books to friends traveling to Europe. Every book has had numerous suggestions that have really paid off. He gives the right amount of information -- too many travel books try to tell the reader everything. For a first timer -- this is just confusing. Tell me what I need to know.
