Admire the architecture of Prague’s historic Old Town Square, check out Berlin’s hip art galleries, or find solitude on the remote beaches of the Italian Riviera—Rick Steves’ Best of Europe 2009 allows any traveler to experience all that Europe has to offer—economically and hassle-free. Rick offers honest and up-to-date advice on the top destinations throughout Europe, including Paris, London, Rome, Amsterdam, and Barcelona. Rick also includes tips on avoiding the crowds and enjoying a true European experience, from biking through the idyllic countryside near Bruges to exploring the sleepy Swiss mountain town of Mürren.
Rick Steves is on a mission: to help make European travel accessible and meaningful for Americans. Rick has spent 100 days every year since 1973 exploring Europe. He's researched and written 24 travel guidebooks and hosts the public television series Rick Steves' Europe, now in its seventh season. He also organizes and leads tours of Europe and offers an information-packed website (ricksteves.com). Rick lives in Edmonds, WA, just north of Seattle, with his family.

May 18, 2009: I bought this book because I only had one week in Europe and it gave a lot of great suggestions of what to see in each country. Definitely a great travel guide if you're in a pinch for time.
