Synopsis

Convinced she could make it on her own, Ashley Baxter has kept the most important people in her life at a distance--her family, the man who loves her, and the God she is sure can never forgive her. Now, just as she begins to open her heart, the events of September 11 rip into Ashley's world and she is led to heartbreaking and hope-filled decisions that will forever change her life. This story vividly illustrates that we must value others more than ourselves, and it drives home one of Gary Smalley's key messages: Honor one another.

Remember is second in the five-book Redemption series by Gary Smalley and Karen Kingsbury that centers around the Baxter family. As readers follow the hopes and struggles of the family, they will explore key relationship themes as well as the larger theme of redemption, both in characters' spiritual lives and in their relationships. Each book includes study questions for individual and small-group use as well as a "teaser" chapter of the next book in the series.

October 18, 2005: Novelist Karen Kingsbury and relationship expert Gary Smalley joined forces one book ago to not only tell a story but remind us of some valuable life lessons - what is important, how should we treat one another? Voice performer Sandra Burr gives her usual accomplished reading as she inhabits the mind and heart of Ashley Baxter, a young woman who is trying desperately to prove that she needs no one - not even God. Those who read or heard the first in this series know that the stories revolve around the Baxter family, very human folks who face the challenges often encountered by all of us - especially when an enormous tragedy occurs such as September 11. Ashley is loved by Landon Blake. For years she has been the only one for him. Now, he must forget her heartbreaking rejection and do all he can to help at Ground Zero. This monstrous event also causes Ashley to change in a way that she had never dreamed. Once again, Kingsbury and Smalley have offered a story of inspiration and hope. - Gail Cooke
