Some cases are unusual - even for Jill Kismet.
When her police contact asks her to look into a "suicide", she suddenly finds herself in a labyrinth of deception, drugs, murder and all-too-human corruption. The cops are her allies, except for the ones who want her dead. The hellbreed are her targets, except for the ones who might know what's going on. Her city is in danger, time is running out, and each lead only draws her deeper.
How far will a hunter go when her city and her friends are on the line?
Just far enough.
Step into Redemption Alley...
Lilith Saintcrow was born in New Mexico, bounced around the world as an Air Force brat, and fell in love with writing when she was ten years old. After taking second place in a fiction-writing contest sealed her addiction to the written word, it's often supposed that she has ink instead of blood filling her veins. She currently lives in Vancouver, WA with two small children and a houseful of cats. Oh. And a husband too. Her website is: http://www.lilithsaintcrow.com.

October 10, 2009: Ms Saintcrow remains faithful to her initial vision of Jill Kismet's world. She lets the story play out with her well developed characters and environment. The heroine is awesome/flawed/self-doubting/driven at the same time. How do you have a life when you are policing the residents of hell that come to live in your town? Oh, and you have made a bargain with said hellspawn? The Jill Kismet reality is well constructed. Disbelief is easy to suspend when the writing is this good. Written well enough to enjoy by itself, but even better when read in order of the series.
