Biography

Matt Piper has indulged his passion for music technology as a recording engineer, music producer, studio owner, musician/composer, and experimental music promoter since moving to Los Angeles in 1991. He joined the Course Technology family in 2005 with the publication of Reason 3 Power!, which he co-authored with Michael Prager. In 2006, he authored Using Reason's Virtual Instruments: Skill Pack, an in-depth study of synthesis and how to make your own patches in Reason. Piper can currently be found in music venues around town using his laptop and other electronics to make strange psychedelic sounds with various improvisational groups.

Michael Prager has been involved with music technology for 15 years and has worked for such companies as Guitar Center Management, Cakewalk, Steinberg, Disney Interactive, Spectrasonics, Q Up Arts, Sony Classical, the Columbia College Hollywood, and Keyboard Magazine. Michael has worked on various ArtistPro instructional DVDs and is the author of several books and CD-ROMs from Thomson Course Technology PTR, including Reason 3 Power!, Reason CSi Starter, Reason CSi Master, Mac Home Recording Power!, and Sampling and Soft Synth Power!.
