Synopsis

This handy reference will give the practicing and training technologist a solid understanding of basic MRI principles on which further learning can be built. Beginning with a hardware overview and moving through tissue characteristics, image quality and flow imaging, Rad Tech's Guide to MRI: Basic Physics, Instrumenation, and Qaulity Control should be used as both an introduction and an examination preparation tool.

Each book in the Rad Tech's Guide Series covers the essential basics for those preparing for their certifying examinations and those already in practice.

Description:This book gives even the inexperienced technologist a simplified explanation of the basic physics involved in producing a MRI image. It's a useful tool for both the experienced and inexperienced technologist. The format is logical and the book is arranged in an intuitive manner.
Purpose:It is intended to give technologists studying for the advanced certification exam a quick, understandable guide to basic MRI physics. The book fills an important niche in that it is one of few that describe the physics of MR in a way that's not only logical, but very understandable, even for a novice. This book meets all objectives set out by the author.
Audience:The audience is MRI technologists who want a quick reference explaining the physics of MRI in a simplified format. It's useful not only for experienced MRI technologists studying for advanced certification, but also for technologists new to the field wishing to better understand the basic physics involved in producing an image. The author is a credible authority and is able to present the information in a very understandable manner.
Features:All the important aspects of MRI physics are addressed in a simplified, logical manner. The table of contents and index is very helpful for locating information quickly. The illustrations are well thought out and useful.
Assessment:This book is extremely useful for anyone wishing to gain a better understanding of MR physics. The book is the best I've seen to date describing the physics of MRI in a manner that even inexperienced technologistsshould be able to understand.

Biography

The only place you can find Yoknapatawpha County, Mississippi, is in the Nobel Prize-winning fiction of William Faulkner. The imagined lives of its residents form an exploration of suffering, love and family that has been acknowledged as one of the great literary achievements of the 20th century. Along the way, Faulkner set a tone for Southern literature that influences writers decades later.
