January 04, 2008: If you don't know anything about David Crowder, let me begin by saying that he is an amazing man. Other than writing this beloved book, he is a well-known musician with somewhere between five and ten CDs out there, all of which I can't recommend more highly. I'd heard his music before reading his work and thought he was brilliant'semicolon' little did I know that I was only vaguely aware of how true this really was. Once I began Praise Habit, I couldn't put it down--seriously. David's intelligence, wit, and humor radiate throughout the entire book while still bowing to the might that is GOD. Praise Habit shows parallels between daily life 'parentheses'and random objects'parentheses' and GOD. Prepare to have the way you see GOD quite altered.

May 01, 2006: this book was hilarious! i've seldom come across books that make me actually laugh out loud, but this one did it. meanwhile, it delivers reflections on the psalms and life in general in a new and wonderful way. i'd heard david crowder's music and loved the quirky sense of humor displayed in songs like 'foreverandever etc' and 'the lark rising, or perhaps more accurately, i'm trying to make you sing' and loved it in this book as well. there are moments of solemnity and hilarity and they mix well. i don't know anybody who's read this book who hasn't loved it. i've read certain parts--'i hate public restrooms,' anyone?--out loud and have sobbed with laughter. and along the way, i learned some good lessons. i recommend it completely.
