    Synopsis

The original Pretty Good Joke Book was pretty darn funny. But it can't hold a trick candle to the latest edition of this perennial favorite. With more than 200 new jokes, this book runs the gamut from giggles to belly laughs, from gentle chortles to roll-on-the-floor hilarity.

We've got bar jokes and lawyer jokes. Minnesota jokes and Iowa jokes. Old people jokes and Yo' Mama jokes. Knock-knocks, puns, one-liners, and lightbulb jokes. IRS jokes, religion jokes, and Ole & Lena jokes. Jokes about sports, death, heaven, politics, current events...have we left anything out?

    Biography

First with his performances on Minnesota Public Radio's Prairie Home Companion and later in his books, Garrison Keillor has become a symbol of the small-town Midwest -- its absurdities, its stoutness, and its warmth. His popular, funny stories set in Lake Wobegon manage to evoke nostalgia for a town that never existed.

The book is an extension of Keillor's annual "Joke Day", as funny as the radio version.by Anonymous

May 23, 2009: The book, purchased as a gift for a friend hospitalized with a morbid illness, prooved the perfect prescription. The jokes, some dumb - some bawdy, lightened the day for the recipient, and for his attendants.

Fun stuff this, I can't wait for the next edition, to add to my own collection.
