February 09, 2009: I bought this book for my granddaughter whose father is an avid gardener. I knew of this book from working in an elementary school & loved the colors. He was thrilled with how it went through the planting process in such simple, but realistic manner. There are labels on all the flowers. A young child would enjoy looking at the pictures & the beautiful colors. An older child would enjoy this book as they begin to explore in a garden with an adult.

April 11, 2002: Unless you inherently know your delphinium from a morning glory, this is a fabulous picture book to read with your child. The illustrations are fabulous and the detailed explanations interesting. Inside the book is a layered rainbow of colors that details red plants, green ferns, annuals and perenials. For this year and next year when you plant your rainbow, again.
