A hardcover edition of this bedtime classic with an accompanying musical CD
Ten little piggies dance on a young child's fingers and toes before finally going to sleep.
It would be difficult for a young child not to love this book. The illustrations of a small child's hand look exactly like one, pink and plump with special lines. The text and illustrations go perfectly together. With only three or four well-chosen words per page, they manage to keep the story alive and moving. The authors explain various situations the little piggies (fingers) find themselves in. For example, the piggies may be clean or they may be dirty. They may be hot or they may be cold. Different kisses for the little piggies are explained. The accompanying CD has seven original songs making this a perfect bed-time story for a young child. Audrey Wood and Don Wood have received many awards for their children's books and this title looks like another winner. Awards include ALA Notable Children's Book Award, Golden Kite Award, and Caldecott Honor Book.
More Reviews and RecommendationsAUDREY AND DON WOOD have collaborated on many award-winning picture books, including King Bidgood's in the Bathtub, a Caldecott Honor Book and The Napping House, an ALA Notable Children's Book and a Booklist Editors' Choice. They live in Hawaii.

October 01, 2007: I bought this book for my son before he was born... okay acutally I bought it as a gift for my God-son and loved the pictures in it that I couldn't give it away! The pictures are what make the book, it's a cute story mind you but the pictures are just so lively and beautiful! My son now 18 mnths old loves to read the book while we show our piggies to eachother and skip them down our toes for bed each night! I'm finally going to give my God Son a copy as well as a few friends children.
