    Synopsis

For Carrie, Chris and Cathy the attic was a dark horror that would not leave their minds.

Of course mother had to pretend they didn't exist and grandmother was convinced they had the devil in them.

But that wasn't their fault. Was it?

Cathy knew what to do. She knew it was time to show her mother and grandmother that the pain and terror of the attic could not be forgotten...Show them. Show them — once and for all.

    Biography

"The face of fear I display in my novels is not the pale specter from the sunken grave, nor is it the thing that goes bump in the night," V. C. Andrews once told Douglas E. Winter. "Mine are the deep-seated fears established when we are children, and they never quite go away: the fear of being helpless, the fear of being trapped, the fear of being out of control."

Carrie is mourning the death of her twin brother, with him gone, she doesn't see the worth of time. Their own mother tried killing them, even if she said it was to get an excuse to get them out of there. Paul Sheffield takes the 3 of them in, and soon falls in love with Catherine.

August 31, 2009: Sure, it's a good book. Worth reading if you enjoyed the first part, but I should warn you it's one of those books in which tragedy is the main plot line and personally I get tired of so much drama! When I first started Flowers in the Attic I thought I was going to end up reading the whole series but after this one I know I've read enough.... I guess I'm just not into the whole life´s-so-tough-and-nothing-ever-works-out literature.
