    Synopsis

In a Ya-Ya Sisterhood for teens, Peaches combines three unforgettable heroines who have nothing in common but the troubles that have gotten them sentenced to a summer of peach picking at a Georgia orchard.

Leeda is a debutante dating wrong-side-of-the-tracks Rex.

Murphy, the wildest girl in Bridgewater, likes whichever side Rex is on.

Birdie is a dreamer whose passion for Girl Scout cookies is matched only by her love for a boy named Enrico.

When their worlds collide, The Breakfast Club meets The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants in an entirely original and provocative story with a lush, captivating setting.

    Publishers Weekly

September 15, 2009: Two thumbs up for Jodi Lynn Anderson's realistic fiction novel Peaches. It shows the power of friendship between three completely different teenage girls. Murphy is wild and a troublemaker. She must work Darlington Orchard because she stole from it. Leeda is pressured to be perfect by everyone in her life except her boyfriend Rex. Leeda works at the Orchard because her Uncle owns it. Rex is sweet and kind and Leeda's rock; he also works at the peach farm. Birdie's father owns the Orchard that brings the fifteen year olds together. She's she and introverted. All the girls have issues with their moms and therefore have a huge whole in their lives. Midnight swims, a garden and of course peaches helps their spring break blossom into life-long friendships. After reuniting for summer vacation the friendship takes amazing and exciting turns. This book is phenomenal and I can't wait to read the sequels Love and Peaches and The Secret of Peaches.
