February 04, 2001: This book is a very comprehensive picture dictionary with many different categories to expand your vocabulary. What's nice is that it's done in a pictoral format which probably helps in vocabulary retention. My major complaint about the book is that the pin-ying or even the 'bo- po-mo-fo' pronounciations of the Chinese words are not printed. For Chinese natives learning English, this book is great. But, if you are trying to learn Chinese (and English is your native language), this book is not nearly as helpful as it could have been. It's really too bad someone didn't think to have the pin-yin pronounciations published. Then, it would have truly made the book useful to students of English AND Chinese.
