    Synopsis

It's been a couple of weeks since Katie turned into the class hamster, and she's beginning to hope that maybe her transforming days are through. But more excitement lies ahead for Katie as she becomes Lucille, the cafeteria lunch lady! Unfortunately, the principal isn't too happy with a lunch lady who throws egg salad and starts food fights. . . so it's up to Katie (back in her own body) and her classmates to save the day.

    Annotation

It's been a few weeks since Katie turned into the class hamster and then back into herself, but now more trouble is on the way as she becomes Lucille, the cafeteria lunch lady.

    School Library Journal

Gr 2-4-The premise is fantastical-a third-grade girl wishes she were someone else, a wind blows up, and she becomes someone or something else. In just 70-odd pages, Katie solves big problems at school, just by her "switcheroos." In Anyone but Me, her tenure as a hamster gives her insight into the class bully (who turns out to be afraid of hamsters), and he is transformed into a nice boy who loves to tell jokes and riddles. In Out to Lunch, she turns into the nasty cafeteria woman, causes a food fight, and comes up with a way to change the quality of the food. This series could be a feminine contender to rival Dav Pilkey's "Captain Underpants" series (Scholastic), but the writing is not of the same caliber and the characters are less well drawn. It's also more purposeful and less fun.-Kay Bowes, Concord Pike Library, Wilmington, DE Copyright 2002 Cahners Business Information.

October 25, 2005: Dear people, I loved this book because it was funny and had a bunch of great characters I also enjoyed Katie Kazoo, Switcheroo Anyone but me. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a short funny easy read. So far out of the series I?ve read the special addition book numbers 1 and 2 and tonight I went and got the 3rd, 4th and 5th. If I were you I would read this series. Nancy Krulik is now my number one favorite author. If you read this book I guarantee you will want to read every other Katie Kazoo book in the series I know I am. Try them I know you will love them!! Love, Whitney Anderson
