August 01, 2003: The Oedipus Cycles of Sophocles are a great collection of three tragedies. Unlike the usual playwrite studied in school and abroad, Shakespeare, Sophocles is better in all aspects. If you are looking for a great play or plays to read, definately do not look over this collection of plays. Simple to read and understand. Very enjoyable, unlike the convoluted plays of Shakespeare, Sophocles' plays are straight-forward and simple. Not to say that Shakespeare is too difficult, but these plays are remarkable and hard to put down! (17 year old high school student)
