Synopsis

Too busy to attend yoga class but can't be bothered to read the endless instructions in the latest yoga book? In OM Yoga: A Daily Practice, celebrated yoga instructor Cyndi Lee brings the rigors and reqards of yoga class to the home with a totally unique method of teaching. Instead of wordy directiosn and minimal pictures, each series of asanas is communicated entirely through easy-to-follow illustrations and tips. Designed in a practical, concealed Wire-O format that lays flat on the floor while being used, OM Yoga is organized in tabbed sections for each day of the week. Monday is devoted to the Sun Salutation to welcome the week's start. Thursday's practice focusses on sitting poses, when the week's energy is dwindling. When joined together, each day's recipe cultivates a yoga practice that is challenging, energizing, and restorative. Including sections on meditation, breathing, and do-it-yourself yoga "recipes" for all levels, OM Yoga: A Guide to Daily Practice creates the possibility for a meaningful yoga practice in the privacy of the home.

November 05, 2006: I went from never doing yoga to practicing everyday with this book. Having a different routine for each day of the week kept me interested and I always wanted to improve...and I am not an exercise fanatic. Within one week, I began to notice my arms, abs, legs, etc. becoming more toned.

August 17, 2003: Cyndi Lee's little treasure has surely saved my soul and my spirit, not to mention my body and my mind. I have the muscular body of a former gymnast under years of what I refer to as 'squishy'. I have not, for the life of me, been able to find an exercise program that I will do, let alone one that I actually LIKE! I hate aerobics-yuck, running just makes me feel like passing out, walking doesn't feel like enough of a work-out, and yoga classes are outragously expensive! Then along comes Cyndi Lee with her little treasure and changes my whole life! I don't need no stinkin' yoga teacher...I'm my OWN yoga teacher! It's free, fun, relaxing, spiritually enriching, and oh so convenient! Each day is mapped out to a T for you...You don't even have to THINK to do this stuff! (Which is, by the way, the idea of yoga, at least in part!) Buy this one! You'll never go back to paying $12 a yoga session or sitting on your tush wishing you were in better shape! Trust me on this one! Namaste, A-former-gymnast-who-is-finally-seeing-her-beautiful-bod-after-all-the se-years
