confusing and boring

this book was confusing and boring. i didnt understand even one story. they were weird and just plain plotless. i dont understand how people like this book! it so very confusing!

Wake Up from Your Dream

Some stories of this powerful collection were over my head, but I also really enjoyed many of the meaningful stories. Teddy to me is a beautiful finish to the collection. Buy this if you love Salinger.

Biography

Jerome David Salinger, was born in New York City on Jan. 1, 1919, and established his reputation on the basis of a single novel, The Catcher in the Rye (1951), whose principal character, Holden Caulfield, epitomized the growing pains of a generation of high school and college students. The public attention that followed the success of the book led Salinger to move from New York to the remote hills of Cornish, New Hampshire. Before that he had published only a few short stories; one of them, "A Perfect Day for Bananafish," which appeared in The New Yorker in 1949, introduced readers to Seymour Glass, a character who subsequently figured in Franny and Zooey (1961) and Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenter and Seymour: An Introduction (1963), Salinger's only other published books. Of his 35 published short stories, those which Salinger wishes to preserve are collected in Nine Stories (1953).

Perfect Short Story Collection.

This is a terrific read for any Salinger fan or anyone that loves the art of the short story in general. Some stories are likely to hit different readers in unique ways but rest assured there is something for everyone.

Nine Stories kept me turning pages all night through. It is an enjoyable collection to read. Salinger emerged as witty, penetrating, humurous and very knowing. He is a fresh breath of to short story writing.

Weird and Boring

I was freaked out by the ending of the last story. All the stories were so weird. Some of them were more memorable than others. The best was 'A Perfect Day For Bananafish.' I remember the most about that story. I could actaully understand and keep up with what was happening. This book drove me crazy while I was reading it I just wanted to get it over with.
