    Doody Review Services

Reviewer:Celso Agner, MD, MSc (University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine)
Description:Already in its fourth edition, this book adds to the current understanding of molecular neuroscience. The addition of two different web resources helps students succeed in their neuroscience requirements.
Purpose:This book addresses complex neuroscience topics in an approachable manner.
Audience:Graduate level neuroscience students are the main audience.
Features:Multiple contributors write the more than 30 chapters. As is the tradition with this book, current neuroanatomical and neurophysiological concepts are explained in detail and fully illustrated. The addition of current concepts on neuroplasticity and behavior, as well as the web resources, significantly enrich this edition. This is a worthy and affordable book for neuroscience students.
Assessment:This is an excellent contribution to the study of neuroscience, deserving of its place in neurology, neurosurgery, and neurosciences libraries.
