April 10, 2009: In trying to understand why my son died by suicide, I read every book recommended to me and more. I first purchased Carol Loehr's book, My Uncle Keith Died, for my young nieces and nephews. In a few pages, Carol Loehr gently describes suicide as a result of untreated depression. From child to adult, this book is helpful in understanding that depression is a treatable illness and the importance of recognizing and acknowledging depressive feelings.
