September 21, 2003: Master Humorist: James Thurber. This is one of those books you can read while sitting completely alone, or in the company of others (such as on the subway), and either way, you'll laugh right out loud -- which in the latter circumstance will conveniently provide you with greatly expanded 'personal space' as your fellow passengers take you for a complete lunatic. This book also makes very good reading aloud to others, as Thurber always does.
