Finally there is a book that thoroughly explains distributed applications in the .NET world. This is a must read for anyone who needs to understand and work with distributed applications. The book has plenty of code samples that clearly explain each concept presented. In addition, Matthew gives clear examples of when to use each technology/concept. I have tried quite a few other books to find good explanation of advanced topics such as threading, asynchronous remoting calls, wait handles and callbacks. Matthew explains all these advanced topics in such a clear way that I am wondering what were all the other books trying to do. I want to want congratulate Matthew McDonald for writing such a good book on a very difficult topic.
