    Synopsis

Fourteen-year-old Maximum Ride and the other members of the "Flock"--Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel--are just like ordinary kids--only they have wings and can fly.

Max returns in book 4 of the series in a chilling adventure unlike any other. Safe havens for the six highly-sought-after winged kids have become increasingly hard to find-so the flock takes refuge in Antarctica with a team of environmentalists studying the effects of global warming. In this remote wilderness-whether pursued by corrupt governments, bioengineered bad-guys, or the harsh forces of nature-survival of the fittest takes a new twist! Teens, adults, and educators will savor this motivating cautionary tale about a real-life peril that may affect their own future.

    Biography

Not making any bones about his bid for success, James Patterson once declared he wanted to be known as “the king of the page-turners.” While that may seem like a pretty grand ambition, Patterson is as worthy of that title as any author working today.

October 11, 2009: Max's humor is very close to my own, but I don't say 'heck'.. I say 'hell'. But other than that yea.

Anyway, in this 4th installment (cool to used that word..installment. Ooo I think I just scared myself Its from Monsters vs. aliens get it? Oh nevermind) Like I was saying, 4th book in the Maximum Ride Series or the 1st in the Protectors. During this Flock experiance(<-- I really don't care if I spelled that wrong), Max and her flock are irritated with jumping through the hoops of stupid adults( I'm not one by the way so I can say that!) and actually start to relax, but then, of course, the government wants to do tests on them in exchange for a SCHOOL. School People!!! What kind of reward is that?

But I won't spoil this for you so you'll just have to see where Max's story takes you :)

October 07, 2009: I have to say that overall the series was wonderful. I love, love, love Max; she is so hilarious. I must caution future readers not to read this book in public because on various occasions I found myself laughing out loud. Me and my friend both read this book and we can discuss it for hours at a time and she doesn't even like reading!

I Also Recommend: The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series #1).
