Sudoku fever is on! Which book in the Martial Arts Sudoku series will provide the perfect challenge for you? The skill level recommended to solve these puzzles is ranked in the same way as Japanese karate levels—by different colored belts. Easy sudokus bore you, but The Black Belt collection never will. July 05, 2009: If you are looking to raise you Sudoku solving skill to the highest level, this is the book for you. Very difficult and challenging. Just the kind of book I was looking for when I bought it. Too many Sudoku books cater to the novice and intermediate puzzle solver and do not present much of a challenge to higher level enthusists. This book is even better than Longo's "Second Degree Black Belt Sudoku" which was the best I had found previously. If you love difficult and challenging Sudoku, BUY THIS BOOK!!!

February 24, 2009: I suppose "good" and "hard" are relative terms when it comes to Sudoku puzzles. While I am a long time aficionado of these sometimes maddening puzzles, I admit there remain some puzzles that I can't solve by logic alone. I continue to read about advanced techniques, but still encounter those puzzles that won't yield to my "bag of tricks". The puzzles in this book, however, are not of that variety. They are difficult and require attention to detail, but ultimately are solvable by the basic techniques described in the introduction. I really like the "Martial Arts Sudoku" series. I bought all the levels from 5 to 9 which allows me some control over how challenging the puzzles wil be.
