Features: In this user-friendly manual, the content has been reorganized and grouped into main sections, which are divided by tabbed pages. The main sections are nutrition assessment, lifecycle nutrition, nutrition management, nutrition support, and diets. The tabbed dividers and subsections allow for easy access to specific chapters. The manual includes 11 new chapters, which are hypertension, esophageal surgery, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, lung transplant, pancreas transplant, small bowel transplant, high calorie-high protein diet, calcium-rich diet, iron-rich diet and potassium-modified diet. Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs) have been incorporated throughout the manual as have metric units and Systeme International d'Unites (DI units) in addition to the traditional units.
