William M. Lindsay is a Professor of Management at Northern Kentucky University. He received a BSIE from the Georgia Institute of Technology, MS in Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, and an MBA and Ph.D from Georgia State University. He has authored numerous articles in quality management, business strategy, and distance education. In addition to co-authoring six editions of The Management and Control of Quality, he is the co-author of the text, Total Quality and Organization Development. He served as an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award from 1999-2002, as a judge for the Kentucky Quality Award since 2000, and as a judge for the Seasongood Innovation Awards for the City of Cincinnati in 1997-1999. He is a senior member and Past President of the Cincinnati Chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and is a member of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), in addition to many other professional organizations. His teaching experience includes quality management, project management, operations management, organizational theory and development, and business strategy. His research interests include applications of quality management to service and manufacturing operations, performance management, project management, employee involvement, and distance education.
