    Synopsis

The availability of beautiful beads in an array of styles and textures and all the incredibly useful tools and accessories means that it is easier than ever for you to create stylish, professional-looking jewelry at home.

Making Designer Jewelry is an introduction for novice bead weavers and bead stringers, but it is also a resource and refresher course that experienced bead weavers can use to make their creations unique. Jewelry makers can break out of their one-style rut and draw inspiration from more than 45 projects, featuring seed beads, gemstones, crystals, pearls, and many others.

Each project includes illustrated how-to techniques, full-color photos, detailed project instructions, and numerous tips and tricks that will ease doubts and inspire creativity.

    Included inside:

    • All the basics about buying and working with beads, tools, materials, and all components of jewelry design
    • More than 45 jewelry-design projects, including earrings, bracelets, necklaces, lariats, chokers, and more
    • Step-by-step wire-working instructions for creating all types of findings: jump rings, hooks, clasps, and eye pins
    • Easy-to-follow seed bead stitches, including ladder, Comanche, flat peyote, freeform sculptural peyote, and bead embroidery
    • Expert beading and stitching tips

June 29, 2009: My Mom is 80 years old and a jewelry creator...she creates jewelry from the finest beads to ones crafted from paper...a real artist. She truly enjoyed looking through Making Designer Jewelry and has produced some very nice sets. It was full of many ways jewelry could be designed to look expensive and unique.
