    Synopsis

Mankiw's masterful textbook earns its widespread acclaim by covering macroeconomics as accessibly and concisely as possible, in a way that emphasizes the relevance of both the field's classical roots and its current practice. While achieving the same guiding objectives as previous editions, the new Fourth Edition offers refined discussions of every topic and incorporates important new ideas, data, and events throughout. In addition, the supplements package now includes a new Macroeconomics Companion Web site, featuring the new web-based version of David Weill's MacroBytes.

November 02, 2006: This book is highly reader-friendly with a strong focus on grapical analysis, with less emphasis on mathematics. However, I would have liked more mathematical modelling because it would have made it easier for me to understand the models, which I think were too loosly defined in the book. That said, this book was really enjoyable to work with and will give you good intuitive skills, so if you want to understand macroeconomics without dealing too much with mathematical treatments, this is ideal. The website extra's are really good too.

April 18, 2005: I had to use this book for class but I hated it. It espouses ideas from the contraversial and discredited Chicago school of economics. Some items that are especially horrific are how minimum wage laws cause unemployment, race to the bottom mentality, anti-worker opinions, foreign labor exploitation, etc. Very disappointing about the slant of this book.
