    Synopsis

The Lost Continent of Mu is the classic book on the theory of a lost continent in the Pacific. First published in 1926, it has never gone out of print Author James Churchward was an extraordinary man (soldier, inventor, linguist, artist and mapmaker, among other things) and here relates his extraordinary adventures traveling the world in search of the mystical civilizations that existed in the mists of time

Churchward started out as a young soldier in British-occupied India, where he was befriended by a high-ranking Hindu priest. Over their 12-year association, this rish revealed to Churchward ancient carved tablets that had been hidden for thousands of years in temple vaults, and taught Churchward to read the arcane script he claimed was the original language of mankind! The tablets told of a highly advanced worldwide civilization that had begun on a continent in the Pacific that was eventually destroyed by cataclysmic earth changes.

Could such a tale be true? Churchward made it his life's mission to find out. Starting in the late 1800s he traveled extensively through Central Asia and the Pacific searching for clues of the lost civilization-travels that would be extremely difficult and expensive even today. He subsequently gathered evidence from Egypt, Central America, Siberia and the American Southwest. The culmination of his worldwide investigation-the proof of the civilization of Mu-is presented here.
