October 03, 2009: This sequel to Creating A Charmed Life is as helpful and joyful as its predecessor. Victoria Moran is an expert on what makes us happy, and reminds us of what we already know but often put aside and forget as we get on with our lives. It's lovely to start the day with one of her small essays and carry the wisdom throughout the day.

June 01, 2009: Self help and inspirational books are not normally my style. I find that most of the advice in most self help books does not apply to me or is given in such an uppity manner that I don't follow just to spite the author. This is not the case with Victoria Moran's Living a Charmed Life. She gives advice in such a friendly and engaging manner that it is difficult to disregard her.
There is so much useful advice in Living a Charmed Life that I think anyone can find something that can apply to them. For me, it was raw foods. It was only a small passage and easy to overlook but not for me. After I read it, I had the most intense craving for a good salad. At midnight this is most inconvenient. I decided to try the Live Till Five approach for a few weeks. So far, it has been great. I feel more energetic and healthier. I also am not getting hungry so often. I had never thought of a raw diet as something that would work for me but I now realize it might be perfect. I might do it full time. I am going to Borders to get some recipe books today. I also followed Moran's advice about progressively waking up earlier. So far, it has not been working so well. I got up at 12pm today. So sad. I might have to work on this a little more. Maybe get a louder alarm clock. Of course, some of the tips in Living a Charmed Life will not work for me. Such as giving up caffeine. I would be a walking zombie without three or four cups of coffee a day. I don't even want to think of the terrible headache I would get if I tried to stop.Living a Charmed Life is a wonderful self-help book for women that can be useful to any woman. I can guarantee that almost every woman will find something that can be useful for them.
