    Synopsis

Little Quack is a duck out of water. As his brothers and sisters splish, splash, and splosh their way into the pond behind their mama, he is left all alone on the shore. Little Quack wants to join his family. Can he find the courage to be a very small duck in a very big pond?

Count along and find out! The QUACK-U-LATOR keeps score, adding a splash of math to all the fun!

    Annotation

One by one, four ducklings find the courage to jump into the pond and paddle with Mama Duck, until only Little Quack is left in the nest, trying to be brave.

    Publishers Weekly

The winsome feathered fellow first introduced in Little Quack returns in a board book edition and in a third hardcover companion book, Little Quack's Bedtime by Lauren Thompson, illus. by Derek Anderson. PW said of the debut book, "Anderson's depiction of the adorable ducklings, working up their courage to join their fuzzy siblings will keep toddlers coming back." And the feathered quintet is every bit as adorable in Bedtime as, one by one, Mama dispels their fears of the night. Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.

February 19, 2008: We love this book. I got it from the library and then had to buy it because my kids like it so much. We brought it home to read to my 3 year old, but it is the only book my 16 month old will sit still and wants to have read to her. The illustrations are great and now we're moving forward to the Little Quack Bedtime and I bought the Little Quack Gund animal for my little one!

January 21, 2006: We received this book as a baby gift when our first daughter was born. It's been one of the books that I read to her since we brought her home. I guess it was a natural that it became one of her favorites! She even picked up the phrase, 'No, Mamma no' and says that when she doesn't want to do something!!! She now counts along with me when I count with the 'Quack-u-lator'. The books has gotten so much love that I now need to buy a new one prior to baby #2 arriving!
