December 11, 2003: The book contains the complete story of the Little Mermaid as written by Hans Christian Anderson with accompanying illustrations to color. The illustrations are detailed and well-done, but are really only secondary to the story itself. While there are pictures on every page, some pages only have one half-page picture on the two-page spread. I only gave the book 3 stars because I was disappointed in the relatively few pictures to color given the size of the book.
