December 26, 2008: Life of Pi is a solid book altogether. The story, plot, theme, setting, and writing style are all very good. Extremely original. In the future, i guess this will be looked on as a classic. Its a good book with many surprises. The reason why i did not rate the book any higher is because i did not enjoy it. Usually by the end of the book, you are rooting for the lead character, but i was not. I did not like Pi. I found him a bit annoying and inconsiderate. When asked to choose one religion, he did not even consider the option. He was a know-it-all too, i felt. I really think he thought he was smarter than others only because he looked at things differently. All around it was a good book except i do not like the main character. Probably most people will have no problem with the book at all. That was really the only thing that bothered me.
