July 17, 2008: Probably the best true crime I have read in years. Painstakingly researched, rich in detail. Where has this fantastic author been hiding? Another Anne Rule for detail. Could not put it down

July 09, 2004: Sue Russell does a good job of bringing a complex and enigmatic character to life for those who did not follow these tragedies or the legal aftermath resulting in Aileen Wuornos' execution. As a lawyer in the Central Florida area where most of the crimes took place, I am familiar with the streets and places Ms. Russell describes vividly in this book. She also has done her homework in learning about some complex legal issues from the Wuornos trial and explains them in a fashion that any reader can understand. While the end of the book tends to focus too much on the motives of the law enforcement and legal officials associated with the investigations and what happened to them later, the book as a whole does a good job of exploring what influenced this tragic figure without crossing the line into suggesting that Wuornos' troubled life excuses her crimes.
