October 29, 2009: I like to read the book prior to seeing the movie and I love the vampire plots in books. This book seemed like it would be the opposite of Twilight Series, which I did enjoy alot, and I was ready to try something new. I have only maybe less than 100 pages left and I can't finish it! I was captivated by the story up until the parts where the character starts describing how young boys get pimped out and go into port-o-johns to do things to other men & how he wanted to try it just to see if it was all true and not rumors, but I kept reading on. The worst part was when the character has a flash back of a young boy doing "things" to him & 3 other grown men. I couldn't get that disgusting image out of my head! I personally felt that part was completely un needed because it was a pointless flashback the character was having. It made my stomach churn!! I have a very vivid imagination and when I read I can basically see the book playing out in my head and I can't get that image out!! He puts alot of disgusting detail into it as well. I really wanted to see the movie too but I don't want to chance seeing any of these scenes. It's bad enough I read it, I don't want to have to see it too. The story was also semi slow at parts. It jumped around too much too..

October 12, 2009: Starting off strong, Let The Right One In pulled me into its story with interesting characters. However, as the story developed it seemed to have plateaued for me, yet it was still interestingly written and coming from a different point of view so I continued. The last parts of the story then took a dramatic twist, and not in a good way; But I was so close to the end of the book that I had to finish the story. When it was all said and done, I was just glad that I was done.
