Transform your dogs from same-old to super-fly with Laces, the ultimate shoe-makeover handbook. Whether you want to completely customize your kicks or just learn how to tie a knot that won’t come undone, Laces shows you how to lace up with style and put Velcro lovers to shame.
• 50 fresh lacing styles, including Zipper, Checkerboard, Spider Web, Ladder, and Star
• 16 hot knots, including the world’s fastest, “the Ian”
• 4 color-coded practice laces you can use right on the front cover
Ian Fieggen first became interested in shoelaces in 1982 when, at the age of 20, a broken-shoelace incident prompted him to analyze the humble shoelace knot. This led to the development of a better way to tie shoes, the Ian Knot, and set in motion Ian’s lifelong fascination with shoelaces.
Ian’s quarter-century of shoelace research culminated in Ian’s Shoelace Site (fieggen.com/shoelace), in which he used his graphic design skills to make dozens of intricate lacing and tying diagrams. His site, called “the best shoelace website in the universe” by Sneaker Freaker magazine, has been featured in Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal online, and other magazines, newspapers, and websites from around the world.
Ian lives in Melbourne, Australia, where he’s often referred to as “Professor Shoelace.”

If you give this book as a gift, give some neat shoes to go along, or tell someone that you're getting this book and persuay them into getting shoes. Take it from a teenage girl, two words: buy it.

December 26, 2007: My teenage son gave this book to my teenage daughter for Christmas. They haven't put it down since she opened it. There are diagrams and photos of each of the different lacing techniques. The book is three folded, so you can flip the front cover 'which is used to practice', to the instruction page you are working on. It comes with some shoe laces to practice, but you will need to purchase your own to use in your shoes. The kids say that the instructions are relatively easy to follow. And your kicks will definately look cooler. We've already purchased two more to give as birthday gifts for teens.
