    Synopsis

A nation born of angels, vast, intricate, and surrounded by danger; a woman born to servitude, unknowingly given access to the secrets of the realm; and a plot borne of evil, too cunning to be fathomed, too deadly to be known. These are the basis of this award-winning first entry in the fascinating Kushiel's Legacy series.

    Robert Jordan

A very sophisticated fantasy, intricately plotted and a fascinating read.

November 28, 2009: I've only read a portion of this book, but so far I love it. I got a nook for my birthday and I was hoping to finish it using the nook, but unfortunately it is not available in the ereader format.

Hopefully the entire series will be available in the format sometime soon!

If I had one complaint about this book it is that I was not at all pleased with the end. Yes, I understand that ending it the way that the author did allowed for a sequel. And sex, yes, there is sex, after all face it

Phèdre nó Delaunay is a prostitute with a specialty. I will not give a spoiler because I just won't. Phèdre nó Delaunay is a prostitute with a specialty. I will not give a spoiler because I just won't. I enjoy books set in that sort of time period so these books are right up my alley. I do like Phèdre alot, she is such a strong character.
