March 06, 2008: Kudos to Melinda Wells on her debut, and hopefully not last, Della Carmichael mystery! This is the kind of quirky mystery that I love to read. I found this to be an enjoyable story.

February 16, 2008: I bought this book because of the standard poodle on the cover (I have one), and read it with enjoyment. I liked the characters, the setting 'a cable TV cooking show' and the mystery. The two recipes I've tried 'Gangster cacciatore and the chili' are very good. I hope this series continues and I recommend it to anyone who likes cooking mysteries, smart female leading characters, or just good stories.
