March 29, 2007: I first read these stories when they were originally published in the 1970s (when I was about 10 or 11) and they hold up very well. The later portion of All-Star Comics' run at that time is most noted for the introduction of the Huntress, the daughter of the Earth-2 Batman and Catwoman. She provided a calmer and more mature counterpoint to the previously introduced Power Girl, and both characters added quite a bit of life to a team populated by superheroes who started in the 1940s. Unfortunately, her character would be eliminated from continuity after the Crisis on Infinite Earths. No doubt this run influenced the recent JSA and Justice Society of America series, which feature a mixture of Golden Age characters with modern updates. This trade paperback also includes a run of stories published in Adventure Comics after All-Star Comics was cancelled, including the death of a major figure in the JSA.
