    Synopsis

The Literature Made Easy Series is more than just plot summaries. Each book describes a classic novel and drama by explaining themes, elaborating on characters, and discussing each author's unique literary style, use of language, and point of view. Extensive illustrations and imaginative, enlightening use of graphics help to make each book in this series livelier, easier, and more fun to use than ordinary literature plot summaries. An unusual feature, "Mind Map" is a diagram that summarizes and interrelates the most important details that students need to understand about a given work. Appropriate for middle and high school students.

    Annotation

A retelling of the classic play, with background language on the author, language, characters, plot, and theater of the day.

    Library Journal

The latest in Yale's "Annotated Shakespeare" series are two of the old boy's greatest hits. Besides the scholarly texts, these include lists of suggested further reading, essays, and more. Fab for the price. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

March 30, 2007: This was the first Shakespeare play I ever read, and I loved it. It is a great story of conspiracy, murder, and chaos. Antony's speech at the funeral is a masterpiece. A great read and a wonderful introduction to Shakespeare.

March 19, 2007: I have no idea why this play doesn't get more press than it does. I've read Shakespeare's 'best' plays, namely Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, and Macbeth, but I personally found Julius Caesar to be the best of Shakespeare. If not the best book I have ever read, this play is in my top five. I highly suggest it to anyone interested in, well, anything.
