In early 1974, when "Court and Spark" was released, Joni Mitchell was still regarded by many as a distinguished also-ran: a folk artist with a big cult following and a number of famous friends and lovers. "Court and Spark" changed all that - it was a certifiable hit, and helped to make Mitchell a household name. In this beautifully written book, Sean Nelson places "Court and Spark" within Joni Mitchell's remarkable body of work, and shows us an artist working at the peak of her musical powers.

May 12, 2008: I picked up this book randomly for something different to read, and couldn't even get halfway through it. I didn't like the author's style and do NOT recommend this book.
