November 27, 2007: This story is about a boy named Joey Pigza. Joey has A.D.D. and has to go through life being looked at in shame. He cant control him self, so he does things that a normal person wouldn?t do. He swallows key, sticks Band-Aids all over him self, and speaks at random. These events are continuous until one day he really hurts some one else and is expelled from school. Joey then has to go to a special school and try to get better. Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key by Jack Gantos is pretty decent book. I would give it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars because it really wasn?t the most exciting book and didn?t have a very good ending. I think the book is more of a 6th grade reading level but anyone could read it and pick up on the lesson. The author tries to show the reader that someone is way more than there outside appearance and that you should get to know someone before you judge them. Over this entire book was a good read but some parts are slow and the ending doesn?t quite wrap the book up.
