Synopsis

Mrs. Snavin looked right past all those waving hands. She looked right at me and she smiled and said, "I think I'll have Jake take it." Then Mrs.

Snavin said, "but be sure to hurry right back, Jake, because we're going to work on our number-line project, and you have to be my special

computer helper, okay?" And I could feel every kid in the class looking at me. They weren't saying anything. They weren't even whispering. But right then, I heard what they were thinking anyway. They were thinking,

teacher's pet.

Annotation

Jake remembers the terrible days in third grade when everbody thought he was the teachers' pet.

Publishers Weekly

In Jake Drake: Teacher's Pet by Andrew Clements, the third title in this series about an earnest and likable third-grader, Jake's attempts to turn his goody-two-shoes reputation around are aided by the least likely suspects. B&w illustrations by Dolores Avendano liven up the proceedings. (Nov.) Copyright 2001 Cahners Business Information.

January 21, 2003: Jake Drake was about a boy that was good until one day the teachers made him the teacher's pet. Then the other kids got mad at him and they would not talk to him. In the end Jake was bad because he hated being teacher's pet.I like this book becauseit has action and it has interesting characters. The characters change throughout the book and it makes the story interesting. The setting is at school so a lot of kids can relate to it.

January 21, 2003: Jake Drake Teacher's Pet is a great book! At the begining there is a lot of excitement because the main character Jake becomes a teacher's pet. But he doesn't like it. For example he helped Mrs.Snavin with the computer and she patted him on the head.Jake was embaresed. In art Jake accidently washed all of the paintbrushes. The art teacher patted Jake on the head too. The other kids were jealous and began to pick on him. Jake no longer wanted to be a teacher's pet, so he had to get out of it. Read the book to find out how he does it! I recomend this for everybody!
